Who we are
At Five Loaves Sourdough Bakery, we are passionate about bringing back the true essence of bread. Established in October 2021, we specialize in crafting artisanal sourdough bread and pastries using our cherished sourdough starter, known as FroDough, which has been maturing since January 2013. Our dedication to time-honored techniques and quality ingredients ensures that every loaf and pastry is a testament to the artistry and flavor of sourdough baking.
The name of our bakery, "Five Loaves," is inspired by the biblical story of Jesus feeding 5000 people with just five loaves of bread. This story serves as a reminder of the power and significance of bread in our lives and underscores our mission to provide nourishing and fulfilling products to our customers.
We currently operate from our home base in Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort, serving the local community and beyond.
